Unheated Yellow Sapphire from Sri Lanka (Ceylon), of top clarity and fine lemon yellow color, is most desirable. Some gems from Madagascar and Tanzania are acceptable too. Please Click "Refresh" for Our Most Updated Inventory.Color: Fine strong yellow is the most powerful. Light colors are acceptable, but very light (almost clear) is not desirable for the best results. Clarity: Eye Flawless, VS1 minimum (very slight inclusions with no black inclusions). Avoid cracks or milkiness. Light "feathers," or subtle streaks of rutile silk within the gem, are not only acceptable, but confirmation that the gemstone is unheated. These do not hinder Jyotish properties. Shape: Oval, cushion, emerald cut, round. Size: Approximately 2 carats or larger. Enhancements: Yellow Sapphires should always be unheated. Beware: Avoid standard heat treatment, Beryllium Diffusion heat treatment, and significant eye-visible inclusions.
